Description A high quality early season variety introduced by the University of Minnesota. The fruit is crisp and juicy, has excellent dessert quality and will keep in common storage for six to eight weeks. The tree is non-vigorous, spreading and crops annually.

Zabergau Reinette is a winter russet apple with a strong rich flavor. It is harvested towards the end of October but at this point the flavor is very "green" and nettle-like.
