Anglo Arab Qualities

Anglo Arab horses are beautiful creatures with a lot of talent. They can easily run and jump and be used as working horses as well. Some excel rather well in the dressage arena also. Commonly, this type of horse will be seen in France, Germany, and along parts of the English Channel. They are very muscular and have an ideal compact frame that can endure virtually any surrounding. What is characteristic about these horses is that they do not appear like they are of Arab or Thoroughbred decent despite that assumption.

Anglo Arab Temperament

If you are looking for a calm horse, the Anglo Arab variation is the one for you. They can be extremely useful working animals as Anglo Arab are easily trained and also domesticated. They are gentle and calm most of the day since very little can trigger the temper of this type of horse, and even then, they still remain very poised.

Anglo Arab Appearance

The Anglo Arab horse comes in various color coats. They have a tall frame standing at around sixteen hands in height and are thought of as very smart animals. A straight profile with a long neck leads to their poised look about them. They bode fine shoulders and slender legs which are perfect for running and training in the competitions that they do so well in.

Anglo Arab Upkeep

The Anglo Arab horse is not exceptionally hard to tend to. They are good listeners and have a lot of patience. This breed is one that can also survive in the wild and can live in rough temperatures. Surviving the cold and the extreme heat makes them rather highly sought after. They are additionally a breed that is great for riding and in competition, which always equates a very strong, durable breed.

Anglo Arab History

The Anglo Arab horse breed was derived from Germany and held to a high standard for their strength and their immense speed. They were created by a crossbreeding of the Thoroughbred and the Arab horses. While some may assume this breed was derived from England, they in fact were in Germany during the later part of the eighteenth century. Eugene Guyot was a French researcher during this era that tried his hand at breeding an Arab with a Thoroughbred, and then the horse of that breeding with an Arab one. This result in unusual breeding led to a very powerful horse that was easily trained and very attractive. These ones are slightly larger in height than a traditional Arab horse and bigger than an original Thoroughbred. As a result they make exceptional competitive horses. They are great performers and have a way about them that captures their inner wisdom and strength. They currently are very popular in Great Britain, United States and France.
