Porcupine

porcupine. One of the numerous family of rodents, has the longest needles of any mammal. Body covered with porcupine needles not only, but also several different types of hair stiffness. Natural habitats porcupines are many countries and continents: Asia, Africa, Southern Europe, Southeast Asia, North and South America, Central Asia and Kazakhstan. Porcupines feels equally comfortable in conditions of tropical forests, and living in the deserts and savannas.

Porcupines are nocturnal, spending daylight hours in underground burrows, caves or rock crevices, leaving the evening in search of plant foods, which is the basis of their diet.
