St. Alban

A beautiful rose at all stages of its development. As the blooms open, we have a lovely rounded globular bud, within which we can catch glimpses of numerous folded petals. Gradually they unfurl until we have an attractive shallow cup filled with numerous petals. The colour commences as a rich yellow, gradually tending towards a soft yellow. This is not a very formal flower - just a pretty arrangement of petals. The growth is the kind we so much favour - an arching shrub, holding the numerous branches with nicely poised flowers. Plenty of luxurious foliage with excellent disease-resistance. It has a pleasing fresh scent that is hard to define, but has been described as similar to the fragrance we experience when we walk into a florists’ shop. We have named this rose in honour of the Royal National Rose Society, which was founded in 1876 and was the first Society of its kind. Over the years it has been at the centre of all matters to do with roses and has done so much good work
