Göingeget Goat
The Göinge goat is not breed for how much milk or meat they produce. The breeding selection is quite random exccept for the obvious effort to not breed animals who are to closely related.
This however is not an easy task since all Göinge goats come from two pregnant goats found in the area around Tyringe in the south of Sweden (in Småland). "The Society of the the Peseantry Goat" or in swedish: "Föreningen Allmogegeten" have at Gene Bank so they can controll the breeding of the Göinge Goat. The Göinge Goat
originates from a type of goats that were common in all over the south of sweden in the 19:th century. This goat is usually horned and is seen in colorations of gray, brown, white or pied. The hair on this breed is usually long. This is a quite robust goat.
